SVANH(Portrait)
..."A man on the move"... I was given an oppurtunity to follow and capture one of L.A's up and coming photographers, Sammy Siharat a.k.a SVANH. Originally from Oklahoma, SVANH has carved out his own path and has brought his unique and artistic style of photography to the streets of Los Angeles. Photographs from this portrait series gives you a chance to take a quick glance at the elusive SVAHN when he puts down his camera for only brief a moment...(click on highlighted name to be directed to link)

Working with this series has allowed my exploration with film to be taken into the realm of studio photography. I utilized the Nikon F4 tethered to studio strobe lights to contrive these amazing detailed shots. This is what I produced...
" The amazing wonders of film".

Creative Film Portrait Series

"A_Muse" is a creative portrait series put together purposefully to explore the effects of color film utilizing a striking test subject. The location of this photo session took place in a vacant Korea Town apartment complex nestled right in the center of your average L.A. "shady" neighborhood. With this series I wanted to be completely natural with every element taken to compose and compile a multitude of stunning photographs. Meaning, from the lighting to the make-up selection chosen for the model, I wanted to maintain an underling presence of a supreme natural feel or mood throughout the series. The location was specifically chosen for the natural amazing light that flooded the windows, granting me enough available light to capture the photographs at a decent exposure. Me being who I am, I could not resist putting my unique twist on this series with dramatic lighting effects manipulated through basic camera control.
I would advice you viewers to take a further look into the rabbit hole. See what photographs were captured that day. A variety of 35mm and 120 medium format films were selected for this shoot to gain a better insight on the effects and colors produced by each type of film used:

A studio portrait rendition of famous (some may say notorious), N.W.A rapper "EAZY-E"... I took the daring opportunity to dress my brother Clairfoster in full 80's South Central Los Angeles gangster style clothing. All was with effort to create an unconventional style portrait by respectively imitating now deceased gangster rap icon EAZY-E. Setting up this photo shoot gave me the opportunity to photograph my subject using a Mamiya C330 twin-lens camera. Check to see results...
